The Truth of Existence
By

Sitting here feeling the hurt

Wanting to protect my heart

As my mind rereads the story of separation…

The story grows stale as I put down the book

And encounter the fire of liberation.

The warmth of the fire within me

is stoked by Her need to be human

The truth shows no mercy!

My once cherished thoughts and beliefs

up in flames.

I must awaken

To myself that is you

You’re not enemy—true.

We are one organism.

She breathed us into existence

So that one day she too

Could come alive in us and as us

Around us and through us,

One but many,

divine yet human.

The story I told is now ashes:

Self pity, proclamations of glory

Lapped up by the Onlyness blaze.

Dropped into the truth of existence

There is no escape.

Mind games keep me busy

Trying to dowse the fire

with gasoline of resistance.

So why not answer the call

I’ve heard faintly all along?

The voice of truth has no reason.

The foundation of thought forms

Bring only guilt and confusion.

The fire is within me

around me

and through me…

Life force energy burns brightly

and laps at my feet.

I watch

as it burns up my mind’s desire to be separate.

Welcome to heart

We all share it, we’re part.

No exclusion.
